PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

Skype works fine normally, it's just that no matter what program I try to run when a freeze is about to happen, I get an error similar to that. Skype itself isn't the problem, I just thought that that error might be useful since it will happen regardless of what program I try to open when a...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

First off, the error isn't specific to skype. It's just an example of what comes up when I try to launch anything when the freeze is about to happen, in this case skype. To answer your question it's installed skype, I didn't use any apps or anything. Also the error popped up when I clicked to...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

Hi! Sorry it's been so long, I've been trying stuff and I finally got that error to appear when I try to open a program while the lockup is imminent. The error says: C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

I had the problem long before I changed any drivers for my adapter, and when I did update it I had thought that it made a difference regarding the freezes but I was mistaken, and yes I've tried uninstalling those specific drivers and still no luck. Also, I've tried the whole clean boot process...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

Well I thought it might have been fixed, but nope it just happened again. :( At least those fixed corrupted files probably fixed SOMETHING else lol

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

Ok, I did those things. First time I did sfc /scannow, it finished after a bit and I got this: Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

Scratch that, it just happened again :( Ok, I checked the event viewer around when this happened, and these are the 2 errors that occurred before it said I restarted with the power button. 1. A TCG Command has returned an error.Desc: AuthenticateSession Param1: 0x1 Param2: 0x60000001C...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

I updated my AMD drivers with that suite link you posted, and I'll be able to test if the lockups are still happening tonight when I leave it on then try running a game with some friends. As for that Intel driver update utility, I had some trouble with it in that I couldn't seem to find correct...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

The thing with the times it locks up when gaming is, that it only ever happens if I launch a game and play for a bit (15mins maybe?) AFTER the PC has been on already for a few hours or so. Even then it's a rare occurrence, so still not too useful ;)

I'm not overclocking, so I don't think temperature is the issue though maybe inadequate cooling could be causing a high temperature? Either way, 30-40c does not seem to be a fatal temperature so the issue at hand is likely something to do with drivers, my card, or something else :3

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

I've already done multiple scans with Malwarebytes, as well as many other antivirus programs, even that Microsoft one that they always suggest on their forums. As far as temperature, I recall yesterday when I was looking around the BIOS settings it said the temp was about 35 degrees Celsius...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

I get no errors or BSOD at all, it just locks up where it is and I can't even move the mouse after a few seconds. I'll check out that link and see if any good comes of it. Edit: Wait no, sometimes there is an error if I can try to open a program or something after the lockup is "imminent." I...

Ok, updated the PSU in my specs. Sorry for the confusion ^_^

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

Oh wait, sorry XD It seems I didn't properly do my research. I didn't realize my PSU was not one of the ones affected by the issue. A streamer told me that the issue explained in that link was likely the cause of my issue, and I guess I didn't check hard enough to see if my PSU in particular...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

Sorry for the mixup, I didn't change the PSU or anything and the one I have is the 650w one, I only listed the 550w by mistake. There's been issues with my kind of card before, you say? That's great ;~; though at least I could look around and try to update those drivers and see what happens.

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

Well, the issue was present long before I made any changes regarding my network adapter's drivers. Additionally, by now it's pretty safe to say that my tinkering with those drivers had no effect on the problem because the freezing is unchanged. You say that site I linked said my PSU should...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

Augh, I really thought I was on to something... Well what now? What can I even google? I've been trying for days straight, and I've exhausted all the different ways I can word the issue for google XD Do we even know what the cause is? Because someone else told me that it's impossible for a...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

OK guys, I think I'm close. I believe I may be affected by this issue: Haswell compatibility with Corsair power supplies And so someone told me I should try disabling my processor's C states or sleep states or whatever in the BIOS, and I went and looked for a while through all the settings I...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

Oh wait, that's strange. I see I listed 550W for the power supply because I just basically copied and pasted from my order history from Amazon. However, I have a picture of most of the parts that I took before I started building and the box certainly says 650W. So either I got sent the wrong...

PC freezes after idle/sometimes in games

I found the box to my PSU, and it says it's 650W. The card's box says it only needs 600W, so shouldn't that be enough? I know there are all the other components that need to be powered so is that why 650 isn't enough?
