Win8:
I have two wifi APs in the home and I have it all set up so that one is the Internet by cell phone tether and the other is the cabled network via the router wifi.
Works just fine - except.
On wifi 1, Internet I have it set for "Connect automatically" which at boot up it does.
On wifi 2, Network I also have it set for "Connect automatically" which at boot up it does NOT do. I have to go in and connect manually even though the "Connect automatically" is checked.
It seems win8 sees "Connect automatically"and does it but then stops checking other connections. Probably a "feature."
Is there some way to force both "Connect automatically" to happen?
Thanks, I explained that poorly. As well as two APs I also have extra wifi adapters on the PCs I need to access both Internet and LAN without plugging into the LAN. I have since made it work and both wifi are connected. I started out with the information on site linked below, then went from there.
This link describes for setting up a single wifi, but I duplicated the process for the second adapter.
So, now I have it working for the win8 machine but the win7 still needs some work as it is only connecting to one at a time even though there are two different wifi channels available and the Group Policy has been set.
Considering the link you posted shows a wired connection I now have no idea what this post is about but the Group Policy setting does allow Windows to pick up multiple connection at start up.
