Solved it on my own! I just ended the Task Manager task, everything seems fine, nothing has died yet :sarc:. So I've been running Windows 8 for a while now, upgraded from Windows 7. Now that Microsoft has implemented a pretty good looking volume OSD I would like to disable the default one...
