The fact this thread is so long, proves my point. Windows 8 is the most useless "upgrade" since Microsoft Bob.

Windows 8 is completely unnecessary and annoying for end users. Real users talk with their wallets and at less than 2% market share, Microsoft better start listening.

Here's a revelation. If Microsoft users don't like change (for the sake of change) then maybe Microsoft shouldn't change. Are we going to add sparkles and sound effects to a hammer because it's not cool enough? An operating system is a tool, not a toy.

Metro is not fully integrated into all aspects of the computer. You are FORCED to use both metro and the desktop, even if you like one UI over the other. Windows 8 is not ready for prime-time. It's the dictionary definition of half-baked.
