I have now used my weekend trying to get Windows 8 Pro to work properly. But I keep running into problems.
My CPU i5 3570K won't clock down when idle, so it runs hot
My security (KIS 2013) don't work with java in Windows 8 (nomatter which browser I try) My homebanking uses java
Really slow USB 3 performance, and no new driver to be found
It looks ugly at desktop level without Aero
It is NOT faster at reboot than Windows 7 on my SSD, only at coldstarts
I have som troubble switching some Apps from Metro off, so they don't show with messages (for instence Metro Email )
I have an unknown hardware-thing in device manager, and I can't figure out what it is , I have tried to remove all with cables that is connected to the case, but no, it must be "something" on the mobo itself, MSI Z77A GD65 and MSI liveupdate does not know this hw-thing either
Other things has taken some time to get to work, but right now I am tired of fiddle around in Windows 8. As I can see in this forum, other has the same errors like me except with KIS 2013 from Kaspersky (am I the only user of this program?)
Big thanks for your "guide"forum which I have used a lot this weekend, and without it (and the rest of this forum) I had give up some time ago. Allthough it did not turn out the way I wanted, I had to admit, I have learned quite a lot, and some of it I might be able to use if/when I'm going back to Windows 7 Ultimate.
Any advice for me, before "format C:\"?
This is the first OS I have to give up since I tried CP/M in the early 80's!! I am just to stupid to use Windows 8
