Greetings.
USB3 and Windows 8 is still a fuss I think.
When using Windows 8.1 internal USB3 driver for my Z77 chipset, my USB3 sticks runs fine when using them directly in the USB 3 ports on the mobo, but my Skarkoon USB 3 hub is only running USB2 speeds
Internal 4-Port USB3.0 Hub | SHARKOON Technologies GmbH
In devicemanager the hub shows up as a "Superspeed Hub (non functional)", and I don't know where to get a driver that works with Windows 8.1 standard driver.
Then I have tried this trick (look at #10)
http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/13877-usb3-still-missing-new-intel-usb3-driver.html
and then my USB sticks works using internal USB 3 ports AND using the USB 3 hub!!
All seems to work, but how can Sharkoon claim it works in Windows 8, when it has a driver issue with Windows 8's own USB 3 driver? It is not for ordinary users to install the driver from the link above (deactivate driver signing 2 times with reboots between).
Anybody have a clue where to find a driver for the USB3.0 hub that actually works with Windows 8 (and win8.1) standard USB3.0 driver for Intel Z77 chipset?
