I have a Dell Studio XPS 8100 running Windows 7 Home Premium that warns it is not genuine. Basically problem started couple month ago. My PC started to crash nearly everyday. I checked for solutions on your forum and decided to re-install Windows7. But main problem (silly me:eek:)- I installed one of my family Windows ( we have 4 PC) . When I checked COA sticker and my diagnostic printout ,I find -that is not the same! I find my original Widows7 but I don't want ( if it's possible) re-install all ...again. What can I do now ? Thank you

My diagnostic printout below:

but as initial help. you mentioned you have you COA. why dont you install your win 7 genuine key? you dont have to reinstall whole windows 7. Just the key...

  1. Click on the Start Button and type: CMD (into the 'Search programs and files' field in the Start Menu)
  2. The Start Menu will show 'CMD.exe',
  3. Right-click the CMD.exe file and select Run As Administrator.
  4. In the CMD window, type: slmgr.vbs -ipk <type your product key here>
  5. To activate windows after changing the key, type: slmgr.vbs -ato

fyi this is for windows 7 ok?
