Laptop, my wi-fi works great out of the box. But when I try install my Wi-Fi driver via Windows update I keep getting BSoD no matter how many attempts I make to install it.

I have attached a zipped minidump which contains three minidumps since they all relate to the same Update and it BSoD'd three times whilst attempting to install the Wi-Fi driver via Windows Update.

Specs if necessary

You should post this in the "crashes and debugging" section. The BSOD occurs during driver install and I don't think it's windows update's fault.

What WIFI card is this? Not mentioned in the specs.

Nobody is forced to use the drivers from windows update, try to find even newer drivers if they exist on the manufacturer's website. Or stick with an older driver that worked well.

Install any found driver manually via Device Manager to assure a good installation.

Ok.

Go to: Microsoft Update Catalog
You should use ie9 or ie10 for this link and install the site add-on if needed.

and search for: Qualcomm Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter
Since you have 32bit windows, get the x86 version.

Then extract the cab to a folder and install manually in Device Manager.

and you get what you need: there are drivers even for Release Preview.

That should do it.
