Control Panel/Windows Update--
The result is the Windows 'Checking for Updates' screen with the green scanning bar moving left to right. This screen does not change. I've left the machine running in this condition overnight.
Is there a way to 'reset' update?
(Edit) I ran the troubleshooter and the updater is fixed. However, now I remember why I had turned off updates a year ago at my wife's request. You cannot run updates without Windows 'automatically' downloading (and presumably) installing Windows 10 which she does not want (I run 10 on my machine and think it's just fine).
Is there still no way of opting out (temporarily) downloading/installing Windows 10?
