It's Friday morning over here, and there's still no word out from MS on Windows Updates KB3103709 and KB3115224 (both released on Patch Tuesday).

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3103709

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3115224

According to Windows Updates vom 15.3.2016 | Borns IT- und Windows-Blog (it uses German language, sorry about that) the former update appears to address Microsoft Active Directory Services, and the latter appears to deal with some Certificates. Does anyone have more specifics on what these are for, and is it OK to install them?

I am still holding off on those two updates. They are optional so it can't be anything that important. The days of trusting M$ are long gone.

At this point I am I am treating update KB3103709 as malicious. Lacking any information from M$ as to the validity and/or purpose of this update, KB3103709 will not be installed. After M$ included W-10 Upgrade BS in a critical IE update I don't believe you can trust M$ when it comes to coercing 7/8.1 users into switching to W-10. The Dirty Tricks M$ is using needs to be exposed.

HP is investing heavily in Android for desktops, I can't wait.

It might well be, but that post seemed to be a conversation with a bot. The "That's Awesome" remark after the person said that he or she had to format their computer because Windows 10 made it unusable does seem telling. Mind you, on that same thread, someone says it's probably about Active Directory. However, until I know for certain what it is, it's not getting installed.

Yeah, I can confirm this. I didn't install the update, leaving it till official information was forthcoming, but it's now disappeared. Makes one wonder what happened to those who actually installed it?

KB3103709 is gone from my PC's as well. Never installed. I hid the update, just now Restored it, checked for updates and it was gone.

I too wonder what that was all about??????????????????

I'm marking this as solved, even though we'll probably never know what's caused the KB3103709 to dissolve.
