This morning I have the dreaded 'Upgrade to W10' showing in Windows Update. I HAVE DONE NOTHING TO INVITE THIS. I never accepted the invitation for W10 and used Shawns reg tweak to remove the GWX icon a few months ago.
Yesterday I did install KB3083711 (update to Windows Update) BUT NOT KB3035583 which was another W10 compatibility update. Has KB3083711 some other hidden function ?
MICROSOFT. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I do not want W10 on this PC. This PC has not been able to install W10. Dell say this PC is not suitable for W10.
Whinging here won't achieve anything, I know that, but I am seriously considering rolling back to way before all this W10 stuff started and turning OFF Windows Update.
I WANT THE W8.1 THAT I PAID FOR OUT OF MY OWN MONEY.
W10 makes me feel that the PC isn't mine anymore... I have no control over what Microsoft are foisting on me.
I would have liked to have seen an opt out update be issued that would take users like myself out of the W10 loop.
EDIT... One important bit of info. I have Windows Update set to notify only. Seems that was no barrier in this case.
