error installing security update

I am running Windows 8 Pro 64 bit. I think this is the first time in years that I have had trouble installing security updates, and it's update KB3069114. Attempts to install this update all failed with code 80073712, so I did some search and found many possible solution. I first tried sfc /scannow, Windows said something was fixed with details in log file, I tried to open the log file and an "access denied" error came up and the file was essentially blank. I then tried WindowsUpodate troubleshooter (screenshot), it said 3 things were fixed, so I tried to install the update again, and it's just stuck at 8% (see screenshot). I thought about the situation and decided to run WindowsUpdate troubleshooter twice in a row, both times it said the same 3 things were fixed, from that I think the troubleshooter is full of it. If whatever problem was fixed on 1st run why did it show same fixes on 2nd run?

Any suggestion?
