Solved Windows 8.1 Cannot Activate Problems

Hi, Having purchased a new ACER Laptop turning on yesterday cannot activate, spent 6 hours bouncing between ACER and MS. Still not fixed, hoping someone can offer some guidance.
Following the support calls yesterday I was getting an error when activating saying product key was blocked, it turned out the product key windows was seeing was not the one stored in the BIOS that we have since obtained. MS Confirmed that the bios stored product key is valid and ok to use. They have managed to delete the old one through command prompts however when I now attempt to use my bios one it says That key cannot be used to activate this edition of windows? why is this. I have also noticed in bottom right hand corner it says Windows 8.1 bing BUILD 9600 Does this mean I am on a test build would this be the reason. Many thanks in advance for any help please. Regards Steve. If I need to reinstall how do I know which version goes with my key.

As you correctly stated that key in use is blocked. I'm not sure how MS support could confirm that the key is valid..
Please run ShowKeyPlus (see my sig below) to confirm that the OEM key in use is the "Bing" key. I assume that is the version you have installed?

As you can see when I run this the installed KEY is different to the OEM Key. It was the OEM Key that I provided to MS, They told me it was valid. Not sure why I have a diff key installed. Not 100% sure how I tell what OS I have installed although I do have the water mark on the desktop in the bottm right hand corner that says Windows 8.1 bing Build 9600. Any ideas? Thanks again for your time

All very grateful for your help. I have now installed 8.1 from creator tool and it recognised and activated automatically. This site and your guidance is amazing. Thank you all so much. I am just running updates now and hopefully this will get me the windows 10 app icon so I can register for that. Thanks again, does the site have a donate option?
