KB3075853 - Why so vague, Microsoft?

OK, just got this optional update (KB3075853). So, I go to More Information, and find that the update is for, "...some improvements to Windows Update Client in Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2." That's it. That's all the information I'm given. Thanks, Microsoft, for the scant and vague description. Very helpful. It came with our old friend KB2976978, which is an update dealing with the upgrade to Windows 10.

I suppose I'd be a tad cynical in thinking that KB3075853 is also concerned with the upgrade to Windows 10? I mean, the vagueness does raise suspicions. I'm not going to Windows 10 for several months, so don't want an update that'll facilitate this. Just wondering if anyone else knows what this update is for bar the vague "improvements"?

Gort, You have exactly the same questions & suspicions that I was trying to find answers to ... and failed so far.

I to would like to know if KB3075853 has anything to do with Win10 and like yourself, I have no intention to move to Win10 for at least the next 6 months.

Oops ... typo, should be KB3075853

Curious, see KB3075853 and KB3075883 mentioned but wonder if the number isn't actually KB3075583 which is one of 2 updates to get ready for Win10.

I'm referring to KB3075853, whose More Information page I linked to. That was the optional update I received last night.

BTW, Berton, not that I was referring to it, but don't you mean KB3035583? I can't find anything about KB3075583.

KB3075853 has not been offered for my Win8.1 Pro with Media Center 64-bit.

BTW, Berton, not that I was referring to it, but don't you mean KB3035583? I can't find anything about KB3075583.
Meaculpa, typos with old fingers do happen.

Hello, I finally got my new computer up and running on Friday, and for a couple of days it was going well. I'd installed all my drivers before doing anything, making sure the system was properly configured using the latest updates. Windows Update was fully up-to-date, as was Windows Defender....
