Solved why this update again ?

Anybody know why i am receiving this update again when i already have it, received again on July 9

That's the update that gives you the "Get Windows 10" icon in the system tray?

Maybe they made some changes or fixed some of the GWX code?

Yes it is, i thought of that too, there is another post made here with same questionable update . Just that it is the same KB number for update to an update, why i questioned it.

I think Get Windows X is an evolving process. The reappearance of this update is likely a revision or patch of the original update. I installed the original on 5/14/2015 and installed the current one with no issues.

This is kind-of-like an App that will scan your system multiple times looking for compatibility issues. My PC has been scanned at least 4 times since the original installation.

Should of changed KB number then, not to make it confusing. I do read about each update i do. My PC never was scanned for compatibility first time i reserved Windows 10 upgrade through icon, wonder why now and no info on update through MS.

The last 6 months or so has been the worst performance of windows updates I have seen in my 20+ years of windows usage.

This is a revision 4 and looks like an update of a lot of the files so I installed it.

You need to right click and choose to hide it. Otherwise that Nagware will always come back like a ex-girlfriend.

You need to read the KB articles and then make a decision to install them or not.

KB 3035583 is Rev 4 released on 7/9.
KB 2976978 is Rev 11 and released on 7/7.

If you look at the file list many have new dates so have been revised.

This is a patch to update KB3O35583, not the same update as before just same KB number. Reasons i asked here was to make sure. Did google it and shows to be a patch, Microsoft shows same info as before for this update. KB2976978 is optional and says,

" This update performs diagnostics on the Windows systems that participate in the Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program in order to determine whether compatibility issues may be encountered when the latest Windows operating system is installed. This update will help Microsoft and its partners ensure compatibility for customers who are seeking to install the latest Windows operating system".

I do not participate in this Windows Customer Experience, but wonder if it is going to help for upgrade to 10 for me and others. Although think would of made it recommended if was that important.

I know what you mean, can not think of any more comments as used so many in past for them, but i still tend to not install some optional as from reading about them see no need for them. If taking Windows 10 hopefully all this clears up.
