Not receiving the notification to reserve Windows 10?

I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this in, but I'm not receiving the notification in my task bar to reserve my Win10 upgrade.

I didn't have update KB3035583 installed or even showing as available under Windows update but I did manage to install it manually. Windows update is not showing any other updates as available.

My PC definitely meets the requirements and I have a retail version of 8.1 64-bit installed.

    Any suggestions?

Ok, I tried that but no luck upon reboot. Still no notification and no other Windows updates are showing either when I check.

I really would not worry about it. All the icon does, is allow you to reserve a place in line, before Microsoft's servers are going to be hammered, which really will not matter.

If you want it, wait until late Sept. Other wise it will appear in Microsoft Updates, when it is available for downloading.

No need to panic. There will be plenty of opportunities for a free upgrade during the first year after RTM. I would wait a few months afte RTM anyhow for the others to shake out the bugs.

They will certainly upload the iso file rite? or can it be downloaded through WU without reserving. Even I struggled to get the notification but I failed

I'm not panicked about it, I just don't understand why it hasn't showed up even with the relevant update installed. I've done some searching online and found a fair amount of people having this, but only a few people seem to have resolved it.

The biggest chuckle I get is when people come out and state to wait until the bugs get worked out. That is what Microsoft has been doing with 10. They learned from their previous mistakes with earlier Windows versions, that they started with 7, to allow consumers to hardware & software incompatibilities, OS will work for the majority of system drivers. But you still end up with at least 10% will cause BSOD's, like Windows 8.x.x does with hardware that was built for Vista, but was pre-installed with 7. Especially the Intel hardware.

The longest running joke is that no OS or software is ever complete when released out in the wild. By those of us that grew up during the Home Brew Computer Club era. Will state that an OS and/or software never gets out of Beta Stage. Because the manufacturer is always issuing fixes for those items that have been reported as more people start to use it.

If your current hardware was never built for 7 in mind. Built for 8 and future OS's going forward. There should be no issues (cross your fingers). But we all know that it only takes one piece of software to not like another, then on comes the problems.
