    Question about "hidden" Windows Updates

9 Optional updates appeared today, none which I feel I need to apply to my pc's. I "hid" them.

I already had "hidden" 21 Recommended updates (MS changed them from Optional to Recommended after they were hidden) plus 2 Technical Preview Recommended updates. So, I now have a grand total of 32 hidden updates

I only hide those which I feel don't apply to my pc's. And ONLY Optional and Recommended Updates Is there a problem hiding updates like this indefinitely? Is anyone aware of a reason to install everything that MS throws out at us? Really curious about this and not very confident at this point. Appreciate any input. Thanks.

IMHO Microsoft believes that all updates should be applied.
That being said, the only updates that I do not install are hardware up dates from Microsoft I get those from the (hardware manufacturer), and the updates that force the "upgrade" from Win 8 to Win 8.1

Hey John, I know you got burned in the past but don't let it get the better of you. Make your restore points and make sure that your hard disk image is up to date and you should be fine.

Thanks Nuccii - for getting me back on the right path. I went ahead and updated my pc's with these hidden updates and no problems so far. Sometimes I don't look at the "big" picture like I should. Appreciate your comment and direction.
