    Clean up windows update files

    Hello,
Does Windows 8.1 automatically delete old windows update files so I no need to clean using disk cleanup?

    Hello windows8use,

No. Windows doesn't automatically clean up Windows Update. It leaves that up to you if you wanted to clean them up or not since some people prefer to keep them to be able to uninstall if wanted in the future.

Thank. So should I clean it using disk cleanup or run command dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup?

Disk Cleanup is easier to use if you like.

They both serve different purposes, so you can run both if you like.

Thank you. So I will only run dism and stop using disk cleanup, I think it is good already.
