How do I get Windows 8 Embedded key from Windows 7?

When I bought my Dell Vostro 2420, It is installed copyright Windows 8, but now I install Windows 7.I want to give my roommate the embedded key in my laptop.So how do I get it? I used KeyFinder on Windows 7 but I can't get the key? Will I have to install Windows 8 on another Disk? When install can I get the key from "Enter Product Key" period?

The key is embedded in the BIOS it is only good with that computer/motherboard so when you reinstall or upgrade to 8.1 then 8,.1 update you don't have to keep reentering it . It is absolutely not transferable just like all OEM keys. See this article at cnet.

I won't install Windows 8 or 8.1 on my laptop to use.I just want to get key and then format disk. The product key is normal with my roommate?

You can't transfer an embedded key to any other machine.

https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ Will find the key, but your roommate will not be able to use as it is an OEM Key, only retail keys can be transfered

An unused OEM key may telephone activate on another machine but this will contravene the EULA - run it by your OEM first to get permission to do so.

BTW for OEM keys, Showkey v1.3 targets Windows 8.1 - for Windows 7 use this version.
