Hi!
I run Windows 8.1 update 1 in my PC. I have in my Lan whs2011 server which monitors clients. WHS2011 gives alert that in this win 8.1 PC windows update service is not running. I don't know if it it should be running all the time or not. This might be odd question, but I'm a little bit concerned about this alert.
BITS service is set "Automatic delayed start"
Windows update service is set "Automatic Trigger start"

When I get this alert from WHS2011 I have checked the status of Windows update service and the status is not "running". When I start it it starts ok. It is running WHS2011 is satisfied with WU service status, but later it starts again giving the alert.

Windows update is set to "update automatic". If I manually run "check updates" windows update service is started and is in "running" status.

This alert started about 2 weeks ago. Before that whs2011 wos monitoring this PC, but alerts was not raised.

I have run windows update troubleshooting and it tells that some errors found and those are fixed.
I have also run dism scanhealth and checkhealt. No errors found.

Might I have real problem in my win 8.1 PC or is there something odd in whs2011 client monitoring?

Best regards

I had nothing but problems with the WHS 2011 "monitoring" of my Win7 and Win8 clients, so I uninstalled the WHS client from all of them and everything is fine now. I store all data on the server and image all devices and store the images on the server also, so I don't need to backup and monitor the clients...

Hi!
I uninstalled the whs connector and then reinstalled it. Now it is working fine, no false alerts!
