Spotted this by pure chance just now while looking in reliability monitor. On the 13th of this month it shows an update called "Bing Sports". As I have Windows update set to notify only this should not have happened. This update does not show in the Windows Update history or in installed updates.

I do believe thats the app for the Sports live tile, which if I remember correctly will update itself automatically when the app gets updated by Microsoft.

That sounds very plausible... I don't have any sports tiles or apps active though, just weather and news. So perhaps all these apps update regardless.

They remain installed even if you unpin them from start screen and will continue to get updated automatically.

If you have Windows 8 or 8.1, you have those app's. They're pre-installed w/Windows. Mail, News, Health & Fitness, Finance (now called Money), Travel, Sports, Music and Videos are all pre-installed modern app's. All are now called MSN ..., except Music and Videos. The Music and Videos apps, along with Games are branded Xbox apps.

Thanks for the explanations folks. Lol, I only use two out of all the installed apps.
