    Windows 8.1, unfortunately.

How do I make this... thing go away?

Okay, so I'm sorry if my topic title is not helpful or if I am in the wrong subforum. I'm just not sure how to describe this, exactly, beyond showing you a picture. So, do you see this thing?

I want it to go away.

It throws off the mojo I've got for working on my laptop while also making it far too easy for me to go to any of the numerous things I greatly dislike about Windows 8/8.1. As such, how do I get rid of it and go back to what can at least mostly pass as Windows 7?

(Also, if I could afford the disks to go back to 7? I would.)
