From 8 to 8.1 with only one update?

I thought I read that you can go from 8 to 8.1 much easier than installing all the 8 updates and then getting the 8.1 update from the store. But of course I can't find it now.

Is there one specific update that you can do in 8 that will allow the update to 8.1 to be visible or was I dreaming?

I ask because if I do a recovery I will be on 8 and I want to get to 8.1 and it sure takes a long time to do all the 8 updates.

I could swear I saw something along the lines of on a freshly recovered Windows 8 you only need to install KBxxxxxx and then you will be able to see and install 8.1 from the store. I MUST have been dreaming.
