Win 8, Asus SE200 notebook
Having just performed a refresh to finally rid myself of a corrupt component store (after many efforts, fixes and different error codes), and having Auto Updates set to 'never', I've been manually checking for updates this morning.
407 important updates have been installed and all seems well. The last update installed (by kb#) is 2993651, which I know is a replacement for previous flawed updates (these flawed updates weren't installed, since I only started updating this morning).
So I'm wondering why I haven't been offered the 8.1 update yet? Are there later updates that are required on the system in order for 8.1 to be offered?
More important, I think, is the question: Should I allow the upgrade to 8.1, or is it more trouble than it's worth?
Thanks!
