HDD noise.
Following on from this weeks updates I have a noticed a definite change in HDD activity and noise. Even when left displaying just the desktop there are constant bursts of HDD activity but while these are long lasting (a couple of minutes at a time) and seemingly pretty constant... an hour in and still they persist... they are not enough to light the HDD light. Not even a flicker. The sound is like very faint machine gun fire, and yes it is quiet in absolute terms but equally in a quiet room its noticeable. Task manager shows everything at zero and yet clicking "disk" on the performance tab does actually show a graph of the constant activity. Actual throughput is probably very very low but it certainly shows in the HDD noise, at least for me.
Just wondered if anyone else had noticed.
