When I try to update windows and click "install updates" after about a second the update window in the picture, freezes and becomes unresponsive gECVJEG.png.
Everything else works on the computer just the windows update window freezes. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is, I've tried a few general "fixes" that I google'd but still the same problem.

EDIT* So after a while, it actually got passed the freeze somehow, Now its been stuck on "downloading 13 updates ( 0kb total, 0% complete)

When back to normal run the Windows Update Troubleshooter
Troubleshoot problems with installing updates - Windows Help

Run the sfc /scannow command in the elevated command prompt. If no system file corruption, continue.

Disconnect all USB devices except the keyboard and mouse

Temporarily disable your antivirus program

Now try to Windows Update.

When I run the windows update troubleshooter it says "windows update components must be repaired - not fixed"
After the sfc /scannow, it says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix someof them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios."

I also ran the "windowsupdatediagnostic" thing from their website, and that said "problems isntalling recent updates - not fixed"

Someone else suggested the Dism fix and I already tried that. I ran it it said it was successful, ran the sfc scan again and got the same corrupt error.

Also tried a system restore and that didnt help

I'm honestly just going to do a fresh install of windows I think. Tried most of the "fixes" I could find on google, and didn't get any that actually fixed it, super annoying, Hopefully fresh install works.

Check if you have these 2 files in:
C:\Windows\WinSXS\pending.xml
C:\Windows\WinSXS\reboot.xml
If you do then move them to somewhere else such as desktop.
Go to: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS and delete everything in this folder.
Re-run sfc /scannow and you might have to run multiple times until you get: windows did not find any integrity violation.

As for Windows Updates, sometimes it does not update the progress bar in real time, you just have to wait for it to complete.

Once sfc successfully run, go to: C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and delete every in this folder and re-run Windows Updates.

Good luck
