Having Trouble With Installing Updates

Hello,

Lately I am having troubles with installing the Windows Updates on my computer. I have version Windows 8 and not 8.1

I recently did a System Restore to see if that would fix the problem but with no luck.

When it tells me it needs udating, it goes through the entire process and takes about an hour, and then it either tells me there were problems with updating or else it will go for a really long time with the blue screen, saying 15% please do not turn off your computer, and so forth, all the way to 100% then it acts like its going to restart but goes right back to the beginning. The other night it was doing that and finally I ended up having to just shut my computer off and then it finally restarted.

Can anyone help me with this problem please? I recently sent in my computer for repair and I don't want to have to do that again so soon.

Hi, try the following: Stop the Windows Update service in Task manager, then delete the contents of the C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution folder and restart the computer. After this try to install the updates again.
