Hello all,
Been pulling my hair out on this one. KB2964358 (Description of the security update for Internet Explorer for systems that have security update 2929437 installed: May 1, 2014) is the patch for the latest 0 day exploit of IE from version 6 through 11, on every OS from XP to Windows 8.1 update 1.
I maintain the System Center Server at work (uses WSUS) on back end. I've downloaded this update and have tried to publish it to a collection of test computers that I have running Windows 8.1. On my desktop, the update ran. My desktop is on 8.1 update 1.
I have 2 coworkers both running 8.1 without update 1. The update does not apply to their computer. Furthermore ,if I ran Windows update manually, and check against Microsoft, it doesn't show as applicable either.
Now, I have also read that KB2964444 is for IE11 for 8.1 for those WITHOUT KB2919355 (which is the update 1). But this update doesn't install, nor does it show as being applicable via Windows update either for these 2 computers.
Is there any circumstance where a browser is exempt from needing this particular patch?
