Hi there - I can not get rid of old windows 7 option when I start up my laptop - it gives win 7 and win 8 as options like there are 2 os which there is not. If I try to click on win 7 option nothing happens. I have reinstalled many times and can not get rid of it. I have an ASUSF5RL

I don't know if it is connected but when I try to shut down it takes 5-30 mins for the computer to click off

How do I get rid of this?

System One

  • OS
    Windows 8
Press Windows Key + X, select System, then select Advanced System Settings, then the Advanced tab. Click on Startup and Recovery and in that dialog untick "Time to display list of operating systems" and make sure Windows 8 is in the above drop down. Thats it, ok and out.
