Solved Windows shows installed updates are available

I have been having some strange issues related to the big update that was released yesterday (specifically, the one labeled as KB2919355 in Windows Update). When I went to download the update, the progress indicator froze at "4% Complete". When I went to shut down last night, it actually installed that update (apparently it did download even though Windows Update thinks it didn't). When I booted back up this morning, Windows Update was showing that same update as being available even though it's already listed in the Installed Updates section.

After trying various methods to get it to work properly (renaming the SoftwareDistribution directory via admin-level Command Prompt, uninstalling and attempting to reinstall the update both via Windows Update and the manual packages), I'm now at the point where I was before, except that Windows is now showing a second already-installed update as being available as well (KB2933809).

How do I resolve this issue? I don't want to hide the updates as I'm afraid that might affect future updates (since most updates released after a Service Pack are typically dependent on having it installed to begin with).

I've avoided installing this update. I'm afraid it will mess up my computer.

The problem seems to have corrected itself. When I shut down last night, it wanted to install updates again (supposedly the two that were already installed) and went through the usual process of configuring stuff when I booted up again this morning. Now the two updates that were previously showing are no longer showing, so I guess Windows sorted things out itself.
