Solved Can't set update to automatic

Although many folks don't like to let Windows do automatic updates, I have done that for quite some time. For some reason it has stopped doing it and I haven't even seen a request to update.

It says that I must be the administrator to make the change and I am the administrator.
Anyone know what is going on and/or hot to fix the issue?

I am using Win 8 - 64 bit and the laptop is a HP Envy m6.

Double check using the tutorial below to see if it may help to set your Windows Update settings to be for automatic updating.

Well this is just ducky. I went to control panel to open Windows Update so I could take a screen shot showing the statement about having to be an administrator to change the setting to automatic and now it says I am set to receive them automatically.

If it switches back I will take a screen shot and post it.

It's always nice when it sorts itself out for you.
