Unable to install windows updates or MSI files

So some background. I had issues with being able to install ANYTHING from an MSI file. Then I wasn't able to install any updates from Windows Update. I then reinstalled Windows, and am now facing the same issue after a few days. I would rather not reinstall yet again.

I tried doing System Restore, but it just hangs. Windows Installer hangs on "preparing to install".

Any advice?

Can you please screenshot what happens when you try and install a windows update and a msi file for us to be able to have a more granular description of what is going wrong for you.

After try this:
please can bring up after an elevated command prompt after you have restarted your computer.

Press :winkey: + X
Press :winkey: + A

at the command prompt can you type the following and press enter:

SFC /Scannow

After this is done which is going to take a few minutes please screenshot results.

After the screenshot restart and try windows updates again.
