Added Media Player, now asks me to reactivate constantly

I originally installed Windows 8, then upgraded to 8.1. Two days ago I realized I had no DVD player, and purchased Media Player.

Now, everytime I start up - and occasionally while I'm working, I get a screen telling me to go to PC settings to activate windows. When I click on "PC Settings," It shows the last four digits of my product key, with a button to add another key, and says windows can not activate now, try again later.

1) Do I have to enter the product key for Media player
2) Why would it keep saying Windows can't activate?

Any help will be appreciated!

Regards,

Mary

I assume you meant Media Center, not Media player. Might I ask where you bought it from? Just want to make sure it was from a legit source. So you entered the Media Center key though Add Features and now it won't activate, correct? You shouldn't have to enter the product key for Media Center a second time. The Change Product key option is there to let you try a different key, if you have one. Have you used this MC Key on another PC?
