Solved how does activation work?

My current setup is a Maximus V Formula with an i7 3770k. I'm going to rebuild the computer this week, keeping everything. The only changes are: i7 3770k changes to i7 4770k and Maximus V Formula changes to Maximus VI Formula. Is my windows 8 serial going to work? If not, is there a way to call in or is the serial tied to the old board?

Hello Kingturbofox,

If you have a retail copy of Windows 8, then you will be able to install and activate it with no problem on the new computer.

If it doesn't activate online as usual, then you could activate by phone instead.
