Window 8 Update crashed

Hie guys! My laptop hp pavilion g6 has been trying to update and it has a blue background saying "Configuring Windows Updates 12% complete" it's has been like this for almost 2 hours now I tried to remove the battery but when it boot it comes back to the update help me pliz I have a project to do and exams to study for...

When starting the machine from power off state, keep pressing F8 until the boot menu appears. When it does, choose "Last Known Good Settings" or "Last settings that worked" or similar wording. See if that gets you to desktop.

If it does, delete all files and folders inside C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Try to do Windows Update again.
