Hide unwanted updates in windows 8.1

I don't see any option to hide the updates which you don't want to install.
In windows 7, one can simply right click and choose hide the update, but no such thing in windows 8.1.
    am i missing something???

The option to hide updates is there for me and I use it to hide MS crapware, so it works as in prior versions. It has the little administrator shield on it, so you have to be an administrator to access it. If your PC is a company machine they may have set a policy that removes the option.

As an update to this I had to hide the update for MS Silverlight install, three times, before it finally got the message.

    I can't.
For example i wanna hide the bing bar update. But i get nothing by right clicking on it like i used to get in windows 7. There is only a detail link next to it that is clickable. and no option there as well.
anybody care to share a shot where they have option to hide????

    Hello Gulls,

You would need to do it from Control Panel (icons view) -> Windows Update instead.

    You're welcome.

Good question. Maybe it may be added in a future update.

Unable to Hide Optional Updates in Windows Updates & Activation
