I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 and afterwards I noticed that under Windows Update it said that no updates had been installed and that it had never checked for updates.
Before upgrading to 8.1 there were at least 70 updates installed but it's as if all windows updates previous to the 8.1 upgrade have disappeared. Can anyone tell me if this is normal ?
Is the upgrade to 8.1 similar to a service pack in that all previous updates are rolled into it and it is normal for Windows Update to be reset in this way ?
That said there were about six new updates waiting after I installed 8.1 and they were downloaded and installed without any problem. I'm just trying to figure out what happened to all the updates I installed before upgrading to 8.1.
Thank you very much for your responses. I just wanted to seek clarification on this issue. I was concerned that the upgrade had somehow wiped out the previous updates leaving my OS unpatched. I'm relieved to hear that is not the case. Thanks.
