Problems updating because of UltraUXThemePatcher

Hi there,

I've been Googling like crazy to try and solve this problem, but no solution seems to exist that doesn't require refreshing the Windows installation (which is pretty much the same as reinstalling).

The issue regards the UxTheme patch and would be solved by uninstalling UltraUXThemePatcher if it worked. However, every time I try to uninstall it and reboot, I get stuck before the lock screen with the screen flickering infinitely as if changing resolution many times. As I understand this is a problem related with the uxtheme.dll, uxinit.dll and themeui.dll that have been patched to allow theme customization.

What I would like to do would be to remove this patch (and I don't have a system restore point from before I installed it), so that I can update Windows normally and never use this patcher again. Is there a way to do this? Remember that uninstalling doesn't work (reboots into a black screen) and also updating windows doesn't work (also goes into a black screen).

I currently have disabled Windows Updates and this is pretty much the only solution I've got besides a total wipe and reinstall... A bit of help would be appreciated.

Best regards,
