I noticed that Windows Update is available both by clicking a Tile and by launching IE on the Desktop and then selecting Windows Update.

What I found disturbing is that when I selected it using the Tile, it said there were no updates available. That bothered me because I did that right after install and was hoping that WU would find some device drivers.

So, I opened the Desktop and used IE to run WU from there -- and it found a bunch of Updates.

Shouldn't they show the same updates?

To Mods: Sorry -- posted this in the wrong section. Please move this to Windows Updates and Activation. thanks

*cough* Developer Preview, say it with me DEVELOPER PREVIEW.
You should only be using this system to test, not as your main system.

WHERE did I say I was using this as my "main system"?

I was only pointing out that the available WUs were different -- depending on HOW you looked for them. IF MS is actually comparing the set of WUs installed on your PC with those that apply to your PC, then it should generate the same list, regardless of what menu or key combination you use to launch Windows Update.
