Firstly, I am running just standard Windows 8 that came on my new laptop.
With the standard win8, there is no option for Hyper-V, you need Windows 8 Pro version. The reason I want Hyper V is for emulating wp8 in .NET but that's besides the point.
So basically I want to be able to run Hyper V, but there isn't an option because I don't have win8 pro. So instead of upgrading the OS, I noticed there was an 'Add New Features' option where I have the option to pay $250 for extra features. Is this essentially an upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, or will paying for these new features enable me to have Hyper V?
I'm really not sure.
