    Problem with patch KB2821895

After applying KB2821895 via Windows Update (Yesterday's Patch Tuesday) I get a ton of errors in CBS.log when I do a SFC /SCANNOW along with an SFC message that files were corrupted and not all were fixed. The message said to reboot and I got the applying Window Updates message. This happened everytime I ran SFC.

I restored a disk image I made before I applied the patch so I don't have a CBS.log with the errors. However, I did look at it when I was trying to figure out the bad patch and it had the typical corrupted file messages in it for lot's of modules.

At this point I just want to see if anyone else has this problem with SFC.

I found what I think is the same problem I am having but it's a German site, I think.

Hello all, and hi there you're not alone on this i had the same problem with KB 2821895. I did an SFC /scannow and same thing happened "SFC message that files were corrupted and not all were fixed" and upon restart windows tried to install update and it didn't fix anything. I've also tried that WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab cause i thought maybe it's a buggy windows update or something. After three time of restarts, i give up and did a system restore right before the KB 2821895 patch, and of course sfc scan result is back to normal, 100% no integrity violation. on a side note, i've come to this situation after a system lock-up yesterday and had to re-install cause i couldn't get pass login screen. So, maybe it's the culprit, no idea. For now, i'll just hide the kb 2821895 update.

I spoke to MS about this issue and got nowhere. I suspect a new patch might be coming once enough people let's MS know of the problem.

This seems to fix the problem with the update. Run at Command Prompt with Admin.

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

I'm trying to get something official from MS before I try this on my production machines. I would hate to have unintended consequences down the line.
