I just spoke to someone at one of the Microsoft stores and he told me he heard 8.1 is going into the Microsoft app store sometime this month, anyone hear this also?
I thought it was going to be shown to IT people in July and would be finalized and put in the store by November or dec????

I read yesterday Ballmer quoted as saying that the final would go to RTM in August. Just a month or so out. Since it is a free update I would think the downloadable versions of "8.1" would be available as soon as it goes RTM--yea, probably late August, but you never know!

Had a brain amputation followed up by an all-lobe "clean-up" lobotomy last year, am doing fine. Life is so much simpler, now.
I'm waiting for the RTM version. I haven't installed the preview version, as I understand I would have to reinstall or at least fall back to an image before installation of the preview version.

True, but you could play with Windows 8.1 Preview in a VM or dual boot if you like. This way when the final version is released, you could just delete the 8.1 preview VM or dual boot, and upgrade your Windows 8 to the final version without losing anything. :)

The final 8.1 is available Sept 17th. Should I bother troubleshooting the preview or just wait? It installs fine but on the final boot, it fails to finish loading, tries 2x more times and reverts back to 8. I.m thinking it the Intel HD controller driver, I'm using the Intel and not Microsoft's on my EVGA FTW 939 board. [DEL]Will update my siggy when I am
on my PC, on my tablet right now. [/DEL] System specs entered

No you are right October 17th. I went back to the site where I read that and if it was a typo, they fixed it already. With that much time I may start troubleshooting. I forced Intel RST Enterprise 3.0.0.3011 and now thinking it may be the culprit.
