Windows Updates

Hi there,

I seem to have a problem with the Windows Update service.

When I check for updates and select the updates to be installed I then click "Install Updates" it then tells me "Preparing to Install" after 1-2 seconds it then returns back to the "Install Updates" page with the "Install Updates" button.
(See screenshots below).



However I can download and install Definition Updates for Windows Defender through Windows Defender fine.

I have use the "Refresh your PC" function and the dism.exe /Online /cleanup-image, Quick and Full scans using Windows Defender but all to no avail.

Any advice or solutions would be gratefully accepted.

Wow! it looks like you just did a reinstall and you are getting ready to download all updates to current; yes? Now, as a first step, I would simply recommend trying to segment your downloads by trying to download and install only a few at a time. See if that works for you.
