I downloaded Windows 8 Pro for my Acer Aspire 5532 and it was working fine until it had to do the second automatic update. At first it worked but removed the ability to listen to sound so I did a system restore. Since then every time it's attempted to update it tries for about 20 mins, then fails and reverts the changes back. I've now stopped automatic updates but have no idea where to go from here so any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi, you may want to go into safe mode and attempt to restore back to a previous state. Once you reach there you can either try again or attempt to visit the manufacturer's website for further guidance concerning audio drivers or anything else. Try installing selected updates and see if they are successful or not. Let me know how you get on !
