Windows Media Centre Product Key

hi im new to the forums and have aproblem and was wondering if someone could offer me some advice please!

My problem is i have 2 pc's that i have upgraded to windows 8 on both pc's first pc i added windows media centre no problem 2nd pc i requested another activation code which was sent to me and i used this code on my 2nd pc

Not realising that i had been sent the same activation code as my first pc perhaps because i used the same email address again ?

i inputed the code into 2nd pc and it accepted it and did the upgrade how ever it constantly says windows not activated because code has been used previously which it has 1st pc.

i have tried going back and requesting new code but it wont process the order as computer has been upgraded to windows 8 with WMC i have tried getting another code on a windows 7 pc but it wont accept a code request from that one as its not a windows 8 pro machine.

Does any one have any ideas as to how i can activate my 2nd pc with wmc

Hello Rich,

You might see if using the tutorial below to change your product key back to it's prior normal Windows 8 Pro key to have it activated with it again. Afterwards, see if you can register for new Media Center key with a different email address.

thanks i did a restore and that worked fine i am now back on windows 8 pro but now i have a new problem. I have been onto microsofts website to request a WMC free key but every time i complete the email etc i click submit and i get an error say sorry could not process your order! is the key generating site working ok ? i have tried four different computers with 4 different email address and i keep getting the same reply each time! is it me or is there an issue with the server?

Not sure. It works fine for me. You might contact Microsoft to see what they say as well.

are you using Chrome? I'd try another browser like Firefox or IE. Chrome can be tricky with some sites' authentication process.
