Not very good with computers and modern technology im 59 yrs old and just updated to a new laptop an hp pavilion6 from day 1 i have not been able to get past 12% on windows upset after two lengthy attempts at configuring updats it states on green screen reverting updates to previous settings after several hours of attempting it also does not accept my new epson xp205 new printer both wifi or cable im now wishing id stayed with vista on desktop

59 is just right man, whatcha thinking haha, try and disable your anti virus while updating, also try and remove all thatis connected to your lappie well except for power and mouse .
Change isnt easy as you know by now , but dont let it defeat you, you are not alone. Did win8 detect your Epson? best bet is to go to epson site and download from there, it should work if not we ll makeit work.

Just updated my computer it downloaded past 12% this time and configured all updates its now found my printer which now works without me doing anything different but for a new laptop hardly used its woefully slow
