    Welcome to EightForums, pinkflower1992.

Oh good grief! Not at you, but you did the wrong operation to fix. It will remove all extra software. Not your fault. Hardly anyone knows this about restoring 8. Well, water over the dam.

Is it a new Asus laptop? What model? Did the disk come with it? Please fill out your specs or post them. Thanks.

No, those System Restore disks that came with your computer will restore your computer
to the state it was in when you left the store where you purchased it.

MAYBE, the Windows Program called "System Restore" will restore your computer to the state it was in before you had the
problem with configuring. But then where does that leave you? Back with your 'broken?' laptop?

The only way to get a computer back to a certain state is to make/copy "Disk Images" to an
External Drive once a week or once a month or anytime prior to installing a major application,
and then restoring from those Disk Images.

But hey, I might be wrong?

    Good Luck

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.
Recovery Drive - Create with USB Flash Drive in Windows 8
System Repair Disc - Create in Windows 8

Sorry to say, but ASUS are not doing Recovery disc's

The answer was what I feared- currently there are no Asus-provided recovery tools to create a disk image for the G75VW with Windows 8. This was very surprising to me but right now this is the official word from Asus.

Will you need to use the Windows system image.

Basically, my computer had the problem with configuring ...anyway now I did repair my laptop everything got deleted, I have a cd for system repair no idea how to restore things.
This is what I see now:

is there anyway that the system restore cd will put everything back the way it was????
Thank you for filling out your specs. I'm afraid you may have lost all your other programs, but we will try and help you get them back. I/we can't garauntee that, though.

First some facts. A Windows 8 system restore disk is different than a manufacture's (OEM) system restore disk, or more likely an image disk. Think of an OS data restore disk as a disk that has data files on it for the operation to copy and repair broken files it finds or replaces. An image disk is more like a picture of the whole hard drive that it copies and pastes onto a hard drive to restore everything that was on that hard drive. OS and other programs. A Windows 8 system restore disk restores just Windows 8 OS files and in the process uninstalls others software as it did with yours. An OEM disk replaces everything that came on your computer when you bought it. Usually call out-of-the-box condition.

Questions: Where did you get your system restore CD? Where did you buy the Asus? Who upgraded OS 7 to OS 8? I'm assuming the computer boots up and runs 8? You're absolutely sure the Asus didn't come with any disks?
