Very strange take on no compromises. Microsoft's idea of no compromise shines on the tablet PC. Instead of having a laptop and an iPad, a tablet PC consolidates the two. You can have touch, apps, and a Desktop in one. It also shines if you have a smartphone and have apps you use. Theoretically, some of those apps will become Wimdows 8 apps so you don't look like a spoon using your phone to browse content on your phone whilst sitting in front of a very competent machine. Hardware wise, some compromises are made, especially WinRT, but user experience wise, not so much. It adapts to you. You can have a keyboard to type a novel, or a touch one while on a bus or plane. You can use Explorer to copy and paste files, or you can use the apps to explore yr content. It's really up to the user.
