That's pretty normal for Microsoft when downloading large ISO files, if your download stops for any reason you can resume where it left off without having to start over. Also, DLM often uses multiple threads for better performance. However, you have the option to use the DLM or Web Browser links.

I'm running Windows 8 Pro RTM (Licensed and activated through MVL site) and there is no Slacker Radio available, I can find it by searching the Store but when I select it I'm told the App is not available so it's not Enterprise specific.

Hmm, the plot thickens. That's got me thinking that the Slacker Radio App might end up being a pay for App when Windows 8 Officially launches.

    Hi there
if you want a decent radio app (Free) what's wrong with tunein radio - works fine on W8 Enterprise.

works well on Mobile phones too - android and Iphone.

TuneIn: Listen to Online Radio, Music and Talk Stations forget the stupid Ms "App Store" -- I hate that whole concept on a PC -- fine for a phone. !!.

I think you can even install your app manually as well -- forget that "rubbish store".

I can't try Slacker Radio from here as it only works in the US (I can via a proxy but I'm doing something else though).

AFAIK there's no reason to block Enterprise from multimedia apps --what about people who WORK in the industry !!!!.

With W2003 SERVER you could even install Windows Games (the old classic ones like XP) -- why should a SERVER have spider solitaire on it -- same argument --why shouldn't someone play spider while waiting for a lengthy download to complete !!!!.

    Cheers

I live in Canada eh. The reason I like Slacker is because I can listen to classic rock with no commercials or announcer. Just the music. And its free, for the moment anyway on the RP. Its a moot point for me anyway, as I likely won't be running Windows 8 on any of my PC's. Once I ditch the RP and go back to Windows 7 I won't be listening to it anyway. The fact that it was blocked on the Ent Trial was just an observation I thought I would pass on.

Nope, can't be the "pay for App" because there are already a number of paid Apps in the store. I thought maybe it was restricted from Canada but I have it on my Windows Phone so that can't be it either. Could just be broken or broken for Canadians.

It works fine for me on the RP, It shows up in the store on this PC. I think I used it on the CP too. It is just MIA on Enterprise trial for me.
At first I though it might have been a region thing as I had not set my time zone or Country. Windows had me in the Pacific US. I set that all up and double checks that my Time and Date was correct. Oh well, its just one of those things that makes you scratch your head and wonder why?

R0bR mentioned it wasn't there in 8 Pro too. It seems to be blocked to any final release build of 8. Maybe its just poor coding in the app itself and will be fixed? I think I tried the WebRadio app but didn't like the stations offered. I wouldn't really call Slacker Radio, radio. I'm listening to it now and there is no announcer or commercials, just the music stream. Every once in a while you'll hear a "Slacker Radio" but that's it. I tried the Web App on my Windows 7 PC and its totally different and cuts out at 10 songs a day. I've listened for hours on this PC. Maybe they customized the app for the preview (to get you hooked) but the final version will be different and isn't up yet. Probably a trial to start and pay to keep using. Just guessing here?
