Excel: Feature updates

This channel release contains the following feature updates:

  • Insert recent links: Easily attach hyperlinks to recent cloud-based files or websites, and create meaningful display names for people using screen readers. More information
  • Personalize the default PivotTable layout: Set up a PivotTable the way you like, and start with that layout every time you create a new PivotTable. More information
  • Enhanced data import functionality: Easily import and shape data from various sources. Manage workbook queries and connections with the Queries & Connection side pane, and share queries with others via ODC files. More information
  • Get & Transform improvements: Users can create new columns by example and split table columns into rows. Specifying parameters to SAP HANA and grouping data is now easier.
  • Centralized deployment of add-ins: Admins can deploy and update add-ins to users or groups from the Office 365 admin center. More information
  • Quick Access Toolbar customization: The Subscript and Superscript icons can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar.

Outlook: Feature updates

This channel release contains the following feature updates:

  • Focused Inbox: The Inbox is separated into two tabs – Focused and Other. Messages are sorted based on the content of the message and who you interact with most often. More information
  • Quickly access the groups you use most: Groups you're most likely to interact with now appear at the top of the list under Groups in the Folder pane.
  • Insert recent links: Attach hyperlinks to recent cloud-based files or websites, and create meaningful display names for people using screen readers. More information
  • Actionable messages: Developers can create messages to make it easy for users to take simple or quick actions right from Outlook without having to switch to an external web site or separate app. More information
  • Support for on-premises attachments: Files from on-premises SharePoint Server show up as recent files under Message > Attach File, on-premises OneDrive for Business and SharePoint team sites appear under Attach File > Browse Web Locations, and local files can be uploaded to on-premises OneDrive for Business sites.
  • Business classifications for groups: A business classification level defined by the tenant admin, such as Confidential, can be assigned when creating or editing a group, and that classification appears in the group header.

PowerPoint: Feature updates

This channel release contains the following feature updates:

  • Narrate a recording: Include video of yourself narrating when you make a recording of a presentation. Recordings can include animations, ink, audio, and video.

Skype for Business: Non-security updates

This channel release contains the following non-security updates:

  • Show opened rooms in addition to followed rooms in Select Room lists.
  • Add ability to disable VoIP capability while custom RCC app is enabled.
  • Change offline IM tagline to "Try the Skype for Business mobile app."
  • Fix an issue that causes a conversation window for an automatically accepted conversation to open as a normal window, instead of minimized, and unexpectedly take focus away from other windows.
  • Fix an issue with using a screen reader on the Skype Meeting Options dialog box.
  • Fix an issue where the first message in an invite isn't shown in the Missed Conversation email.
  • Fix an issue where duplicate dial-in numbers are displayed when creating a meeting invite from Outlook using the New Skype Meeting button.

  • Fix an issue where the meeting organizer is unable to see video of remote participants when using Meet Now with 3 or more participants.
  • Fix an issue where the first line of the meeting roster is blank when a user right-clicks on another user's name in the participant list.
